The chief accountant of one of the village councils in Kherson district is suspected of negligence, which caused significant financial losses to the community.
This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.
According to the Oleshky District Prosecutor's Office, from July to October 2023, the official responsible for public procurement did not properly perform her duties. She failed to ensure that suppliers were selected based on the principles of economy and efficiency.
As a result, the village council entered into contracts with two entrepreneurs, one of whom already had a history of corruption. The local budget suffered losses of more than UAH 500 thousand due to inflated prices for goods.
The investigation is being conducted by the Kherson Region Police. The accountant faces liability under Part 1 of Art. 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - official negligence.
In Kherson, a former school director faces 12 years in prison for embezzlement of budget funds. During the occupation, she distributed bonuses worth almost 2.5 million hryvnias.
It is worth noting that the woman has already had problems with the law - in 2019 she was tried for bribery.
Although law enforcement officers do not provide the name of the accused, journalists have established that it is Svitlana Dudchenko. She was fired from her position as director in December 2022.
Meanwhile, the Kherson police exposed the head of an Odesa construction company who overestimated the cost of overhauling residential buildings in Blahodatne that were damaged by Russian shelling.
Recently, the State Bureau of Investigation completed an investigation into the former director of the Department for Civil Protection and Defense of the Kherson Regional State Administration. The official is accused of purchasing low-quality clothing for military personnel, which caused the state losses of more than UAH 21 million.
