Police have served a former official of the Odesa City Council with a notice of suspicion of concealing assets worth almost UAH 9.5 million in her declarations.
According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa Oblast, the 41-year-old woman, if proven guilty, faces a fine to imprisonment, with the deprivation of the right to hold certain positions.
According to the investigation, it was established that the woman, being the head of a department of the Odesa City Council, deliberately entered knowingly false information in the annual declarations for 2022 and 2023. In particular, she failed to provide information about eight land plots, two vehicles, corporate rights in three businesses, more than two million hryvnias of income, and two apartments owned by her and her son.
The total amount of hidden assets is UAH 9 million 495.2 thousand. At the beginning of this year, the official resigned from her post. Investigators have now served the suspect with a notice of suspicion of intentionally entering knowingly false information in the declaration of a person authorized to perform local government functions under the Law of Ukraine "On Prevention of Corruption", if such information differs from the true information by 500 to 2 thousand subsistence minimums. Under the sanction of Article 366-2(1) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the woman faces a fine or restraint of liberty, with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.
Earlier, the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption said it had found false information in the declaration of Petro Obukhov, a deputy of the Odesa City Council, for 2023.
