Electricity and tram repairs in Odesa cost 140 million

In 2025, Odesmiskelectrotrans spent tens of millions of hryvnias on the development and maintenance of urban electric transport. This included the purchase of materials and fuel, as well as equipment upgrades and car repairs.
Intent analyzed the largest transactions through the Zakupivli.pro platform.
The year began with millions in expenses: more than 2 million was paid for electricity for the OMET dormitory, and almost 2.9 million for a set of lining to modernize the tram interior and cab. More than UAH 6 million was spent on construction materials, including sand, gravel and crushed stone.
Smaller but necessary items were not spared: maintenance of fire extinguishers cost 349 thousand, paints and varnishes - 1.7 million, mastics and putties - 2.5 million. Almost 900 thousand was spent on the supports, and about 3 million on wooden materials.
The equipment also cost a lot: wire cost almost 4 million, cable couplings - 4 million, rubber products - 2.2 million, electronics and contact network elements together cost more than 9 million. Copper products cost the company more than UAH 3 million.
Fuel was purchased for transportation: almost 9 million was paid for oils and lubricants, and about 3 million for A-95 gasoline.
The utility also announced a number of purchases for spare parts for rolling stock and equipment for railway traffic control - about 32 million in total. Spare parts for vehicles (headlights, mirrors, windshield wipers and components) were to cost 1.7 million. 4 million was planned for wheel axles and tires.
Other needs were not forgotten: printing tickets cost almost 3 million, and uniforms for employees cost more than 4 million.
The biggest expenses were incurred in April. For example, UAH 13 million 820 thousand was planned for a transistor-pulse control system for the traction motor during the conversion of Tatra T3 trams. And UAH 11 million 400 thousand was spent on a set of cladding for the exterior and interior of the tram 's interior and cab. Another 6 million was spent on electronic equipment. Services for replacing glass on tram cars cost 4.2 million. Vertical lifts for people with disabilities cost the company more than 2 million.
However, the most expensive contract at the beginning of the year was the purchase of electricity distribution services, worth over UAH 82 million.
Thus, in 2025, Odesmiskelectrotrans spent the largest sums on electricity distribution, traffic control equipment, and tram modernization. In total, the most expensive purchases amounted to about UAH 140 million.
In September, the Odesa City Council decided to update the electric transport development program for 2022-2028 and increase the authorized capital of Odesmiskelectrotrans. The program envisages modernization of trams and trolleybuses, improvement of the fleet, and increase of route efficiency.
And in September, Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov ordered an unscheduled internal audit of the utility to review its electricity consumption for 2018-2023.
