The High Anti-Corruption Court has scheduled for consideration a lawsuit filed by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office to confiscate the assets of the former head of the Main Department of the State Tax Service in Odesa region.
The court issued the decision on August 15, and it was published in the Unified Register of Court Decisions on August 18, according to Slovo i Dilo.
According to the publication, it is about Ruslan Khvan. The next hearing is scheduled for 12:00 on August 21. On May 16, the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court to recognize the vehicles as unjustified assets. The fact is that the wife of the former head of the Main Department of the State Tax Service in Odesa region, Ruslan Khvan, purchased luxury cars at prices significantly below market prices and then sold one of them.
The list included a Toyota Land Cruiser 200 (2018), which was purchased for only UAH 300 thousand, and an Audi RSQ8 (2020) for UAH 1.4 million, although their market value exceeds UAH 5.3 million.
According to detectives, the Audi was later sold at market price, and the former official's family bought another luxury car, a BMW X7 xDrive, with the proceeds.
An analysis of the official's and his family's finances showed that their official income would not have allowed them to purchase such property. In this regard, prosecutors filed a lawsuit with the HACC, and the court seized the Toyota Land Cruiser 200 and BMW X7. The final decision on the recognition of the property as unjustified is expected later. Ruslan Khvan was dismissed from his position as the head of the Odesa regional tax authorities in May 2024. After that, he was transferred to the tax service of Lviv region as a chief inspector, but at the time of the prosecutor's appeal, he had already been fired.
