Closed cemetery in Mykolaiv turned into a "gray market"

Mykolaiv businessman Dmytro Terletskyi, who works in the field of funeral services, filed a statement with the prosecutor's office about the illegal actions of officials of the Mykolaiv Funeral Service. According to him, the management of the company sells burial places at the cemetery in Mishkovo-Pohorilove, which has the status of a closed cemetery.

The document submitted by the entrepreneur says that the officials of the municipal enterprise "carry out or organize the sale of new burial places" without legal grounds and receive money for this. According to him, the cost of one burial at the cemetery in Mishkovo-Pohorilove is about 25 thousand hryvnias.
According to the businessman, he had previously been subjected to pressure from the municipal enterprise. At the beginning of the year, the company's management set a "fee" for him - 1,500 hryvnias for each grave he dug. He handed over several tranches to the employees of the municipal enterprise, but then refused to make further payments, and was effectively banned from working at the cemetery.
In early December, Terletskyi came to the cemetery with a client who wanted to bury a loved one. The caretaker refused to accept the documents, citing an incomplete package, although a medical certificate is usually sufficient, and relatives receive the death certificate later. When the entrepreneur returned after receiving the certificate, the cemetery gate was closed and no employees were present. Contacting the Department of Housing and Communal Services did not provide any explanation - the dispatcher only referred to the "human factor".
The entrepreneur and the client were forced to go to the office of the utility company, where they found everyone who was supposed to be at the cemetery. The director of the ME , Serhii Vasileha, asked to stop filming and actually kicked the entrepreneur out of the door, while communicating with the client without his participation. As a result, the woman refused the services of the entrepreneur and took the advance payment. A similar incident occurred with another entrepreneur, Kostiantyn Kharchenkov, when clients refused to use his services after a personal conversation with Vasileha.
In addition, new graves in the closed cemetery appear even in areas where there used to be roadways and railroad rights-of-way, which is expressly prohibited by law. The situation led to the businessmen forming a public organization to protect their rights.
Currently, law enforcement is investigating several criminal cases against the officials of the utility. During the inspections, it turned out that the remains of several people were found in exhumed graves, while only one deceased was listed in the documents, and funds for the burial of single citizens and people of no fixed abode were massively stolen.
The Antimonopoly Committee has already responded to this by recognizing the contracts that the management of the utility company forces entrepreneurs to sign as illegal.
In Odesa, law enforcement officers are also investigating the activities of the private company Anubis. Intent and the Center for Public Investigations found out that the family of the deceased Hero of Ukraine was not informed about the possibility of ordering all funeral services through the SPKPO utility company at the expense of the city. Instead, they were offered to contact Anubis, where the family paid the full cost of the funeral.
