A "runner" was detained in Odesa region for taking a driving test for $600

Operatives of the Odesa Department of the Internal Security Department of the Police detained a man who promised to help a citizen pass a driving test in exchange for money.

This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa region.

In exchange for $600, the detainee pledged to help a citizen pass the exam at one of the territorial service centers for the right to drive a car. He agreed to work only after receiving an advance payment, and wanted to receive the second part after passing the exams.

The man was served a notice of suspicion under Article 369-2 (Abuse of influence) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. They will be held criminally liable for their actions.

If proven guilty, the man faces up to eight years in prison. At the same time, similar detentions took place in Kyiv, where a driving instructor offered his students help in passing theoretical and practical exams. He claimed that he had friends who were on good terms with the head of one of the service centers in Cherkasy region. Therefore, his students were guaranteed to pass the theoretical and practical exams. After obtaining consent, the offender would refer clients to his accomplices, who were supposed to organize the successful passing of the exams for 1 thousand dollars.

In addition, the instructor offered to arrange fictitious training in a driving school and facilitate the successful passing of driving exams.

Another 39-year-old resident of Kyiv offered to take a driving school without actually attending classes in exchange for money. And after receiving documents on fictitious completion of the training course, he guaranteed successful passing of exams in one of the capital's TSCs. He was detained while receiving part of the money.

The Kyiv detainees also face liability for abuse of influence.
