Mykolaiv plans to spend more than UAH 146 million to organize meals for schoolchildren in 2025. The Department of Education has announced a tender, and the winner is to be selected on August 7.

This is evidenced by the data of the electronic procurement system Prozorro.

The Department of Education of Mykolaiv City Council has announced an open tender with special conditions for the provision of catering services in the city's schools. The tender involves the purchase of canteen services for a total of UAH 146.3 million.

The services will cover all general secondary education institutions in Mykolaiv between September 1 and December 31, 2025.

Suppliers can submit their proposals until August 7, 2025, and the auction is scheduled for the same day. The minimum price reduction step is 0.5% or UAH 731,485.

The tender provides for full post-payment within 15 banking days after the provision of services. As the initiators noted in the documentation, the procurement is part of a plan to ensure uninterrupted school meals in the new school year.

The list includes both lyceums and gymnasiums and an elementary school:

  • Lyceums No. 2, 8, 9, 19 (together with a branch), 22, 28, 34, 38 named after V.D. Chaika (with a branch), 40, 41, 42, 51, 53, 55, 58;
  • Lyceums named after Oleh Olzhych, M. Arkas, M. Aleksandrov, and the Academy of Children's Creativity lyceum;
  • Gymnasiums No. 4, 6, 10-13, 15, 18, 20, 23-25, 29-33, 35-36, 39, 43-45, 46-48, 50, 52, 54, 56, 57, 64;
  • Primary school No. 21;
  • Special school for children with visual impairments.

Among other things, the contractor must compensate the customer for the costs of utilities used in the preparation of food. The contractor is also obliged to sign a contract for daily garbage collection and to formalize the right to use the canteens in accordance with the law.

In March, educational institutions in Mykolaiv Oblast received over UAH 6.5 million to improve the nutrition of students. The funds, provided by the UN World Food Program, will be used to purchase better quality food and repair canteens in 26 local communities in the region.
