Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation detained Yevhen Borysov, the former head of the Odesa regional TCC and JV, in Kyiv. This happened after he was released on bail in the amount of UAH 39.364 million.
This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigation.
Law enforcement officers received information that the ex-military officer planned to evade the investigation, in particular by traveling abroad. Earlier, he organized the registration of a fictitious non-combat injury, allegedly related to the defense of Ukraine. As a result, he was illegally awarded additional remuneration in the amount of UAH 165,480 for three months of 2022. The detainee has now been served a notice of suspicion.
It is specified that the former official was detained again in Kyiv on December 25. He was served a notice of suspicion of committing new criminal offenses under Part 3 of Article 27, Part 1 of Article 114-1 (organization of obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during a special period), Part 3 of Article 27, Part 1 of Article 366 (organization of preparation and issuance of a knowingly false official document by an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine."
At the same time, as part of another investigation, the court transferred elite real estate owned by the family of the former military commissar to the ARMA. This includes an 857-square-meter house in Marbella (Spain) worth €4 million, a 223.9-square-meter office for €510 million, and three cars - a Mercedes-Benz EQV, a G 63 AMG, and a Toyota Land Cruiser 200 - worth more than UAH 14 million.
In May, Borisov had already tried to leave the detention center, using a bail of UAH 12 million. However, the SBI brought a new suspicion against him and detained him again.
In November, it became known that in the pre-trial detention center, Yevhen Borysov tried to obtain a disability group.
Earlier, employees of the State Bureau of Investigation completed an investigation into the criminal proceedings against the former head of the Odesa Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support ,Yevhen Borysov , for forgery of documents.
Last year, journalists conducted an investigation and found out that the family of the head of the Odesa Regional TCC and JV purchased real estate and cars worth millions of dollars on the Spanish coast. And this was during Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
At first, Borisov himself said that he was "not aware" of the family's property in Spain, and then that his wife was engaged in retail trade there and he did not "get involved" in these matters.
On July 22, 2023, the former Odesa military commissar was notified of suspicion on three charges: illicit enrichment, unauthorized leaving the place of service, and evasion from service. These sanctions provide for up to 10 years in prison in case of conviction.
