Yevhen Borysov, suspected of legalizing property by criminal means, the former head of the Odesa Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support, tried to obtain a disability group.
This was reported by the Glavkom media outlet with reference to the court register.
According to the materials of the pre-trial investigation, the former military commissar has been in a pre-trial detention center for about 15 months. At the same time, over the past nine months, the defense has been taking active measures to obtain form No. 088/o for Yevhen Borysov and to refer the suspect to the Medical and Social Expert Commission (MSEC) for disability registration.
In addition, according to the investigation, the suspect Borysov has now been discharged from the Armed Forces for health reasons and removed from the military register. This means that if a non-custodial measure of restraint is applied to him, the former head of the Odesa Regional TCC can cross the state border without hindrance.
Earlier, employees of the State Bureau of Investigation completed an investigation into the criminal proceedings against the former head of the Odesa Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support, Yevhen Borysov , for forgery of documents.
Last year, journalists conducted an investigation and found out that the family of the head of the Odesa Regional TCC and JV purchased real estate and cars worth millions of dollars on the Spanish coast. And this was during Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
At first, Borisov himself said that he was "not aware" of the family's property in Spain, and then that his wife was engaged in retail trade there and he did not "get involved" in these matters.
On July 22, 2023, the former Odesa military commissar was notified of suspicion on three charges: illicit enrichment, unauthorized leaving the place of service, and evasion from service. These sanctions provide for up to 10 years in prison in case of conviction.
