Voting is the duty of every responsible citizen. However, there are cases when a citizen comes to a polling station and does not find himself or herself in the list. To avoid such a situation, you need to check your personal data in the voter register in advance. This can be done offline or online.

The voter lists for voting at the place of residence are formed on the basis of the database of the State Register of Voters. However, citizens should pay attention to checking their data in the State Register, according to the Free Legal Aid for Voters website, if they have recently

  • changed their surname, name or patronymic,
  • changed their registered place of residence,
  • have reached the age of majority and will be voting for the first time.

You can check your data in several ways.

  1. Check your data in the personalized election invitation.
  2. If you have not received an invitation, you can visit a polling station at your registered place of residence. The voter lists are available for review during the hours when the polling station is open.
  3. Find out whether you are included in the voter list at the polling station to which you are assigned. This can be done on any working day. To do this, you need to come with your passport to the department of the State Register of Voters at the place of registration.

In order to check themselves in the voter lists via the Internet, citizens need to go to the website of the State Register of Voters, where the online resource "Voter's Personal Account" is located, where in the section "Checking Inclusion" you can check information about your inclusion in the State Register of Voters. In doing so, one should specify one's surname, name, patronymic, date of birth and e-mail address, where one will receive a confirmation code and, after entering it, will receive the relevant information about one's inclusion in the register and the location of the polling station. In the "Search for a polling station" section, citizens can search for a polling station by address or on a map, and in the "My elections" section, they can see all the election campaigns in which they can participate.

Until March 25, you can also check whether your name is on the voter list at your polling station and whether it is spelled correctly. By this day, every citizen should receive a personalized invitation to participate in the elections.

If a voter finds that he or she is not included in the list or that the data entered is incorrect, he or she may contact the register authority at the place of residence and have the relevant changes made. To do so, they must submit an application in the prescribed form and copies of documents confirming the information specified therein.
