How to Obtain Ukrainian Citizenship: A Legal Memo

The Odesa regional organization of the NGO “Committee of Voters of Ukraine,” together with the Kotovsk Interdistrict Department of Justice, prepared a legal memo for foreigners and stateless persons titled “How to Obtain Ukrainian Citizenship.”

The Odesa regional organization of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine, together with the Kotovsk Interdistrict Department of Justice, prepared a legal memo for foreigners and stateless persons titled “How to Obtain Ukrainian Citizenship.”

The memo outlines the main provisions, procedures, and a list of required documents for specific grounds for acquiring Ukrainian citizenship (by birth or territorial origin), admission to Ukrainian citizenship, documentation for foreigners and stateless persons, and the issuance of a temporary residence permit in Ukraine. In addition, the informational publication includes contact information for the Main Department of the State Migration Service in the Odesa region and its territorial divisions in the Kotovskyi and Krasnooknyanskyi districts, as well as telephone numbers for regional hotlines addressing various issues related to the State Migration Service.

The leaflet was published in a user-friendly format with a print run of 1,000 copies, which will be distributed during free legal aid sessions and educational events, and placed on information stands in the premises of village councils and public authorities. In addition, the publication is also available in electronic form—on the organization’s information resources, on partner websites, and distributed via email newsletters and social media.
