Voznesensk is preparing to repair a shelter in a residential building located on Ukrainsky Lane. The total amount of funding for these works will amount to UAH 1 million 647 thousand 513.

This became known during a meeting of the permanent deputy commission on the law of Voznesensk City Council.

The bulk of the funds - UAH 1 million 245 thousand 162 - will come from the state budget. Another UAH 402,351 will be allocated from the local budget.

It is expected that the state subvention will be received in November, after which the tender procedure for selecting a contractor should begin. All funds must be utilized by the end of 2025.

The commission raised serious concerns about the timing of the project. The commission members noted that after the three-week tender procedure, there would be little time left for the repair work itself, especially given the need to complete it in winter.

Because of this, doubts were expressed about the quality of such hasty repairs. In this regard, there were proposals to create a deputy commission to monitor the work. The issue was submitted to the city council session for further discussion and decision-making.

This repair is part of a larger plan. Earlier it was reported that UAH 7.5 million was planned to be spent on repairing Voznesensk's radiation shelters in 2025. It is worth noting that the safety component is a priority in the region: in Mykolaiv, in early September 2025, contractors developed projects to repair shelters in nine educational institutions, and the capital construction department planned to build seven new shelters in schools and kindergartens.
