In Mykolaiv, repairs to the Varvarovsky Bridge are underway, with over UAH 44 million already spent. Repair work has also begun on the Ingul bridge.

This was announced by Vitaliy Kim, head of Mykolaiv's regional road maintenance agency.

According to Vitaliy Kim, after the transfer of Mykolaiv bridges to state ownership in January 2023, the Rehabilitation Agency began repair work.

In 2024, the Varvarovskyi Bridge was inspected and priority emergency work was carried out:

UAH 44 million has already been spent on repairing Varvarovskyi Bridge.

The Ingul bridge, where only emergency repairs were previously carried out, is also included in the work plan.

Currently, three expansion joints need to be replaced, including in the drawbridge, as well as supports, girders and sub-bridges, sidewalks, barrier and railing fencing, and the pavement on the drawbridge.

Vitaliy Kim emphasized that the repair work is organized in such a way as not to block traffic. The bridges are being repaired in stages to ensure uninterrupted traffic.

In addition, major repairs are planned for the Ingul Bridge, which has not been repaired for more than seventy years. The official added that the issue of bridge safety is currently being addressed and legal procedures are being finalized.

Last spring, two bridges destroyed by the Russian invasion were restored in Mykolaiv region. In Snihurivka district, soldiers of the 36th Konotop Road Restoration Brigade of the State Road Service built a 30-meter-long crossing over the Ingulets Main Canal. The work was completed in less than three months.

In the Shevchenkivska community, a 12-meter bridge was built by the 1st separate brigade named after Prince Lev in less than a month. In total, in 2023, about UAH 600 million was spent on restoring bridges and roads in Mykolaiv region. The Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service received a subvention of UAH 402 million, and the remaining funds from previous years amounted to UAH 206 million.

As of August 2024, 19 bridges in the region that were damaged by the hostilities have been fully restored. The largest of them is in Voznesensk, where the work was completed and the bridge was opened for traffic in August.
