Unidentified persons cut down one and a half hundred trees in Mykolaiv region during the holidays

In the Novobuzka community, the fact of illegal deforestation was recorded. On New Year's Eve, unknown persons destroyed 52 trees in the field protection strip. Among the trees cut down were fifty acacias and two oaks. Law enforcement officers are currently identifying those involved in the crime.

This was reported by the State Ecological Inspectorate of the Southwestern District.

The environmental inspection recorded serious violations in two communities in the region. In particular, the illegal felling of trees in the Novobuzka community caused damage worth more than 252 thousand hryvnias. At the same time, an even larger crime was detected in the Bratska community: on the Mykolayivka - Petropavlivka highway, unknown persons destroyed 99 ash trees. The damage in this case amounted to UAH 822 thousand. The police have already opened a criminal investigation into the felling in Bratske.

Earlier, the illegal felling of trees in the Dubky Reserve Park in Mykolaiv caused damage worth UAH 2.4 million, according to environmentalists. Inspectors found that unknown persons cut down three trees and cut branches of 58 other trees of different species without any permits.

The State Environmental Inspectorate emphasized that such actions are a direct violation of the law. As the experts reminded, according to Article 30 of the Law of Ukraine "On the Nature Reserve Fund of Ukraine," any felling, including sanitary or recreational felling, as well as other actions that may disrupt natural processes in the ecosystems of these territories, are prohibited within the protected tracts .

Currently, the inspectors are preparing all the materials on the violation to be submitted to law enforcement agencies. This is necessary to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice for the environmental damage caused.
