UN Security Council meets to discuss Russian strikes on Ukraine

The United Nations Security Council met on May 19 because of Russian attacks on Ukraine over the May 14 attack on Kyiv.

The attack injured 57 residents of the capital, including a child.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that a total of 180 objects were damaged in Ukraine due to the Russian massive attack, including more than 50 ordinary residential buildings alone. The massive Russian attack killed 24 residents of the city, including three children. Another 48 were injured.

The search and rescue operation at the site of the destroyed nine-story building in Darnytsia district lasted more than 28 hours. Dog handlers examined 2,800 square meters of the area, and removed more than three thousand cubic meters of rubble.

Kyiv then became the main target of a Russian strike on the night of May 14, during which Russian troops launched 675 drones, three Kinzhal aerial ballistic missiles, 18 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles, and 35 X-101 cruise missiles.
