Ukraine Allocates ₴168M for M-15 Highway Parking Lot Construction

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the allocation of funds from the state budget to co-finance the construction of a parking lot and rest area for drivers on the M-15 Odesa-Reni highway (to Bucharest).

The relevant information is contained in the Cabinet of Ministers' Resolution No. 174.

The document, in particular, approves the allocation of funds provided for in the state budget for the development of the road network and maintenance. In particular, UAH 168 million 295 thousand will be allocated for the construction of a parking lot on the territory of the Reni community of Izmail district on the 307+070 kilometer section (left) of the international highway.

Prior to that, on January 8, 2025, the Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service in Odesa Oblast signed an agreement with Anatolii Zinenko 's capital-based company Viacon Ukraine to develop a project for the overhaul of the M15 Odesa-Reni highway section, which includes the placement of a parking lot for vehicles and recreation for road users. The cost of the design works amounted to UAH 1 million 463 thousand. The works are to be completed by the end of February this year.

The contract was concluded in accordance with the Action Plan for the EU-Ukraine Solidarity Road to promote the export of Ukrainian agricultural products and bilateral trade with the EU. The engineering design services are carried out within the framework of the EU technical assistance grant project "Moldova-MD-Ukraine Traffic Flow Management to improve infrastructure capacity, safety and efficiency of border crossing services on the joint Moldova-MD-Ukraine road VSR Salati/Giurgiulesti/Reni".

This should be a parking area with sidewalks and bicycle paths. A gazebo and benches will be installed for the comfort of drivers and passengers, smoking pavilions, public restrooms, and lighting will be installed.
