Bidding for almost UAH 2 billion has started in Mykolaiv region to upgrade eight sections of the region's key highways. While contractors will start bidding for the Ochakiv section at the end of April, the main auctions for the most expensive lots will be held in May.

This was reported by Intent with reference to the Prozorro public procurement system.

On April 16-17, the Mykolaiv Oblast Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service announced eight tenders aimed at renovating key road arteries in the region. The total expected cost of all works is over UAH 1.7 billion. The road builders plan to repair sections of the highways, covering both strategic highways and access roads to resort areas.

The most expensive object on this list is the repair of the T-15-06 Mykolaiv-Domonivka-Berizky highway. UAH 636 million was allocated for the section from km 70+333 to km 94+680. This is the largest project of the current procurement wave, and the bidding for the right to perform these works is scheduled for April 29.

A significant portion of the funds will go to the H-24 Blahovishchenske - Mykolaiv highway, which passes through Voznesensk. Here, the customer has put up three different sections for auction at once. The most expensive section (km 214+955 - km 220+568) will cost UAH 222.5 million. Another UAH 150.4 million is planned to be spent on repairing the section from km 123+083 to km 131+108. The lowest-priced lot on this route (section km 42+476 - km 47+377) was estimated at UAH 89.2 million. The auctions for these objects will be held on April 27 and 29, respectively.

At the same time, repairs are underway on the T-15-07 road, which leads from Mykolaiv through Parutyne to Ochakiv and the Chornomorka recreation center. UAH 130.7 million has been allocated to restore the section from km 14+433 to km 20+000. Another section of the same highway (km 63+500 - km 66+763) is planned to be repaired for UAH 116.8 million. The bidding for the Ochakiv section will be the first to be held on April 25.

Also, the Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service in Mykolaiv region has announced tenders for the repair of the strategically important M-14 Odesa-Melitopol-Novoazovsk highway. More than UAH 288 million is planned to be spent on the renovation of two sections of this international highway.

The first tender concerns the section from km 69+570 to km 74+310. The expected cost of works here is UAH 119.5 million. The second section, km 85+000 - km 92+605, is more expensive - UAH 168.6 million has been allocated for its repair.

All eight projects will be funded by state and local budgets. The contractor will be paid for the services actually performed to level the surfaces and restore the road. The only criterion for selecting the winner in each tender is the lowest price, and the selected contractors must complete the work by December 20, 2026.

Also in April, the repair of the M-05 Kyiv-Odesa highway worth more than UAH 79 million was awarded without an open tender to a company that has been repeatedly involved in criminal proceedings. Law enforcement officers were checking for possible abuses, including kickbacks, the use of fictitious employees and illegal mining.
