Two deputies of Odesa regional council may lose their mandate at once

Serhiy Biba, a deputy from the banned Opposition Platform For Life political force, and his colleague from the Servant of the People party, Vitaliy Vitikach , plan to terminate their mandates early.

According to the relevant draft decisions published on the regional council's website, the deputies are resigning their mandates of their own free will.

Vitaliy Vitikach, 44, entrepreneur, co-founder of Smarsi LLC, which processes data and posts information online. A member of the Servant of the People party since 2020, head of the faction in the Odesa Regional Council. "Servant of the People is the first party he ran for office from. A year earlier, in 2019, he failed to get into parliament from the same party.

Serhiy Biba, 63, pensioner, member of the OPFL since 2020. According to media reports, he appeared in the so-called Didenko tapes.

In November 2023, during a session of the regional council, the powers of three deputies were terminated early: Andrii Nikul and Oleksandr Provarenko (both from the Shariy Party), and Tetiana Chystiakova (from the Opposition Platform - For Life). Earlier in March of the same year, at a session of the regional council, deputies deprived three more deputies of their powers: Volodymyr Osipov and Oleksiy Ihnatkov (both from the OPFL), as well as Oleh Kazymyrov (from the All-Ukrainian Union "Batkivshchyna") after a vote of 60 deputies.

In addition, the Odesa District Administrative Court initiated proceedings on the claim of former Odesa Regional Council deputy Oleh Kaptur to renew his powers. According to the court's ruling, the former deputy demands that the resolution of the Odesa Regional Territorial Election Commission to terminate his powers be declared unlawful and canceled. Accordingly, Oleh Kaptur also insists on recognizing as unlawful the registration of Oleksandr Vorokhayev, who took the seat in the council previously held by Oleh Kaptur.
