On the night of August 9, a fatal traffic accident involving a cargo van and two minibuses occurred on the Odesa–Mykolaiv highway. Three people were killed in the accident, and eight others were injured.

This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odesa region.

According to preliminary information, the 56-year-old driver of the cargo van, who was traveling toward Mykolaiv, lost control of the vehicle, veered into the oncoming lane, and collided with two minibuses traveling in the opposite direction.

As a result of the accident, the van driver and two passengers from one of the minibuses—a 34-year-old man and a 73-year-old woman—were killed.

Eight other passengers sustained injuries of varying severity. All of the injured were hospitalized to receive the necessary medical care.

Police are currently investigating the circumstances of the accident and determining whether to enter the details into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations.

Recently, on the “Odesa–Melitopol–Novoazovsk” highway between the villages of Krasne and Nechayane, a traffic accident occurred, resulting in nine deaths and eight injuries.
