The head of the Odesa regional organization of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine, Anatoliy Boyko, suggested that deprivation of Ukrainian citizenship of Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov may be part of a systemic strategy to replace city councils with military administrations.

He expressed this opinion during a live broadcast on Intent.Insight.

Anatoliy Boyko noted that such a change has already taken place in most cities closer to the contact line and suggested that the decision to introduce such an administration in Odesa was made long ago, but now there is a reason.

"It seems to me that there is a certain combination of factors. First of all, Gennadiy Leonidovich did not have good relations with Kyiv, and then with the regional military administration. That is, he was already, as they say, on the drawing board. In addition, as we can see, there is a tendency in all regional centers to replace city councils with military administrations. The last straw, most likely, was the tragedy of September 30, when people died because of a downpour. Perhaps there is something else we do not know," noted the head of the Odesa CVU.

Anatoliy Boyko also noted that discussions about the introduction of military administration are taking place in Mykolaiv, and thus Kyiv plans to take control of the local administrative resource for the elections that may be held next year.

However, Anatoliy Boyko also noted that there are no prerequisites for the introduction of a military administration in Odesa, because after Hennadiy Trukhanov's citizenship is revoked and, accordingly, after the city council removes him from office, the duties of the mayor fall to the secretary of the city council, and Ihor Koval, who is currently the secretary, is a representative of the Servant of the People party, so there should be no doubt about his loyalty to the President's Office.
