Activists of the NGO Decolonization.Ukraine have once again updated their map with the number of streets that they believe should be renamed, reducing their number in Odesa region from 179 to 178.

Odesa region continues to rank fifth according to activists' estimates.

In Mykolaiv and Kherson regions, the situation has not changed - 67 and 63 place names respectively. Zaporizhzhia holds the first place with 995 place names. In Kyiv region, there are 243, and in Vinnytsia from 253 to 252. In Kharkiv region, which is in second place, the number also decreased from 282 to 277.

In early July, activists of the NGO Decolonization.Ukraine once again updated their map with the number of streets that they believe should be renamed, reducing the number of streets in Odesa region from 198 to 194.

Electronic public discussions on the renaming of two streets, a lane and a park in Odesa, which began on May 1, ended on July 1 with the citizens supporting the renaming of three place names.

They did not support the proposal to rename Kanatny Lane in Odesa's Prymorskyi district after Romanian poet Mihai Eminescu. The renaming was supported by 169 out of 503 people who took part in the poll, and opposed by 334.

When the map was adjusted in April, Odesa region moved from fifth place to fourth. This happened because Kyiv and Kharkiv regions tied for second place. In both regions, 283 streets and alleys needed to be decolonized.

Earlier, the Department of International Cooperation of Culture and Marketing of the Odesa City Council reported that the city council does not plan to rename some streets and alleys of the city named after Russian cultural figures, politicians and military.
