On November 15, the Facebook group "Kidfriendly" in Odesa—which at one point had about 45,000 members—will cease operations.

The group’s founder, Olga Hill, announced the closure on Facebook.

According to Hill, “Kidfriendly” started out as a small community for parents where they discussed motherhood, child-rearing, and family leisure activities. Over time, the project grew into a city-wide platform featuring experts, doctors, psychologists, cultural events, family festivals, and collaborations with various organizations.

After the full-scale war began, the team changed its approach. Instead of promotional posts and online discussions, it focused on support groups for parents, training sessions on nonviolent communication, and cultural events. A significant portion of its activities moved offline.

Hill explained that the community has already fulfilled its role, and the team plans to develop other initiatives related to children, education, parenting support, and the restoration of the urban environment.

Starting November 15, group administration and the posting of new content will cease. However, previous content will remain available to members.

“A huge thank you to everyone who helped create the ‘Kidfriendly’ Facebook group—the authors, observers, moderators, commenters, experts, readers, and partners. To those who shared their experiences, asked questions, debated, offered support, or simply stood by us. This has been an incredible journey that we’ve shared together,” wrote Olga Khil.
