The TCC responded to the attack in Odesa, where four soldiers were wounded

The Odesa Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support has officially commented for the first time on the attack against its servicemen, which occurred on August 2 during public awareness events.

In its statement, the Center confirmed that an individual, who was unknown at the time, fired a series of shots at the service members. As a result of the attack, four service members sustained injuries of varying severity; all were hospitalized and received the necessary medical care.

The agency emphasized that an armed attack on servicemembers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is a particularly serious and socially dangerous act. They also noted that employees of the territorial recruitment centers are carrying out their legally mandated duties under martial law, and the use of violence against them entails criminal liability.

“Emotions, provocations, hostile manipulation, or disinformation in the information space cannot justify the use of violence against representatives of the Ukrainian Defense Forces,” stated the Odesa Regional Territorial Recruitment Center and Social Support Office.

The day before, police reported that the shooting occurred around 7:30 p.m. during a check of military registration documents. That same evening, law enforcement officers detained a 32-year-old man who, according to preliminary reports, fired a Flobert-caliber pistol at the servicemen.

A criminal case has been opened regarding the attack under Part 2 of Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations. The Military Registration and Enlistment Office expressed its support for the wounded servicemen and their families.

The last reportedattackon TCC staff in the Odesa region, which resulted in casualties, occurred in May. At that time, in the village of Baibuzivka, Savran Settlement Community, Podilskyi District, a patrol team, together with representatives of the National Police, stopped a citizen to check his military registration documents. Following the check, military personnel determined that the individual was wanted for violating military registration rules. Using a bladed weapon, the man inflicted multiple stab wounds on two servicemen.
