Ukraine is preparing for one of the most difficult winters in the entire period of full-scale aggression. Due to continuous and targeted Russian attacks on energy infrastructure, the stable supply of gas and heat to Ukrainians has been significantly hampered. The situation is critical, as energy consumption is already showing a noticeable increase amid damaged infrastructure.

This was reported by Natalia Boyko, a member of the Supervisory Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine Natalia Boyko.

Ms. Boyko said that in the last two weeks alone, there have been six attacks on gas infrastructure facilities, particularly in Poltava and Kharkiv regions. ''Some of the facilities are still burning because there is no access to them,'' she said.

Boyko emphasized the critical need for economical consumption of resources, as gas consumption has already increased by more than 20% compared to last year.

''We urge consumers to save resources. If we spend something today, we lose it in February. Saving is also a form of defense," she said.

Despite the devastation, Naftogaz managed to raise $2.5 billion for gas purchases, of which $1.5 billion was secured through loan guarantees from European partners.

Over the past seven days, Russian troops have already conducted three massive attacks on gas infrastructure facilities. In particular, on the night of October 3, the most powerful attack on the gas production facilities of Naftogaz of Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion was carried out.

On the night of October 10, one of the largest concentrated attacks on energy facilities took place, resulting in significant damage to infrastructure in several regions.
