Healthcare institutions in the south of Odesa region continue to operate as usual - despite the complications of transportation links, medical care is provided to residents of the southern districts of the region in full.

This was reported by the head of the Odesa regional military administration, Oleh Kiper.

According to him, emergency medical and disaster medicine teams are working smoothly. The hospitalization routes have been adjusted to take into account the detour routes. Hospitals and outpatient clinics continue to provide emergency, urgent, scheduled, outpatient and inpatient medical care. All medical facilities are provided with staff, medicines and have sufficient fuel to run generators.

The head of the DMA also assured that aclear internal interaction has been established to ensure maximum patient safety in difficult cases.

"If it is necessary to refer a patient to healthcare facilities in the central part of the region, the Department of Health provides control, operational support and the optimal route. I ask the residents of the southern Odesa region to remain calm and trust the professionalism and dedication of medical workers. The healthcare system of the region is working smoothly and reliably," Oleg Kiper said.

On December 19, the Odesa Oblast Defense Council suspended the movement of freight transport on the M-15 Odesa-Reni highway.

In the evening of December 18, during an attack in Odesa region, an enemy attack drone hit a bridge connecting settlements in the area of the Dniester estuary and also hit a bridge over the Dniester River near the village of Mayaki. There, it hit a civilian car that was crossing the bridge. The car was occupied by a woman with three children. The mother was seriously injured and died in an ambulance. Her three children were taken to the hospital with injuries and acute stress reaction.
