The Odesa region ranks among the top five regions in Ukraine with the highest number of accountants who prepare financial statements for companies. At the same time, the vast majority of these professionals work for only one company.

This is according to data from the OpenDataBot monitoring service.

In Ukraine, more than 61,300 accountants were listed in companies’ financial statements for 2025. They were responsible for filing reports for 75,078 businesses. On average, one accountant worked with 1.2 companies—a figure that has remained virtually unchanged for five consecutive years.

Despite the widespread belief that accountants often handle multiple companies at the same time, the statistics tell a different story. Of the 61,326 accountants, 52,435—or 85.5%—worked with only one company. Another 8,612 professionals served between two and four companies. Only 250 accountants handled between five and nine companies, and just 29 professionals nationwide handled ten or more.

The record for the number of clients was set by an accountant from the Zaporizhzhia region, who served 28 companies simultaneously. Second place was shared by accountants from the Dnipropetrovsk and Zhytomyr regions—23 companies each. At the same time, the largest number of financial reports for the year was submitted by another accountant who worked with ten companies and filed 183 reporting forms.

Overall, the number of companies listed under these accountants is gradually decreasing. While there were 80,700 such companies in 2022, that number had dropped to 75,000 by 2025. At the same time, the number of annual forms filed also decreased—from 126,900 to 116,400.

Traditionally, the largest number of accountants works in Kyiv—13,022 specialists. Next are Dnipropetrovsk Oblast—5,834, Lviv Oblast—4,286, Kyiv Oblast—4,060, and Odesa Oblast—4,011 accountants. Additionally, 1,565 accountants were recorded in the Mykolaiv region, and 348 in the Kherson region—one of the lowest figures among Ukraine’s regions.

In addition, 37 sole proprietors in the Odesa region were placed on the antitrust authorities’ blacklists. Entrepreneurs are placed on the blacklist if the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) finds them guilty of collusion while participating in public procurement.
