The Odesa region ranked among the top five regions in terms of the number of judicial vacancies

The Odesa District Administrative Court ranked among the regions with the highest number of vacant judicial positions. The High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine announced a competition for 272 positions in courts across the country, and the Odesa region ranked among the top five in terms of the number of vacancies.

This was reported on the website of the Ukrainian judiciary.

There are 19 vacant judge positions at the Odesa District Administrative Court.

Only four other courts in the country have more vacancies: the Kyiv City Court (34 positions), the Dnipropetrovsk Court (22), as well as the Kyiv Regional Court and the Rivne Court (20 positions each).

The Kharkiv District Administrative Court has the same number of vacancies as Odesa—19.

By comparison, the Mykolaiv District Administrative Court has significantly fewer vacancies—only 8.

Candidates for the position of judge and judges who have been placed on the reserve list for vacant positions in accordance with the commission’s decision of July 29, 2026, may apply. Applications will be accepted from August 20 through August 25, 2026, inclusive.

Applications must be signed with a qualified electronic signature and sent to the commission’s email address or submitted in person in Kyiv.

The ranking of competition participants will be determined on September 17, 2026; the alternate date is September 18. Afterward, the commission will select the winners and conduct interviews with them.

Just a few days ago, the High Council of Justice dismissedNader Lima Mahdi, the chair of the Ananyiv District Court in Odesa Oblast. Previously, the judge had declared a cash gift of 750,000 hryvnias from her husband and purchased a Ford Mustang for the same amount.
