The Odesa region and Romania plan to establish a joint emergency response system

<span><span><span><span><span><span>Rescue workers from the Odesa region and Romania have joined forces as part of the international BRIDGE2 project. The initiative was launched to strengthen cross-border cooperation and protect border areas. </span></span></span></span></span></span>

<span><span><span><span><span><span>As part of the initiative, agencies from both countries will develop a Joint Emergency Response Plan for the border zone and improve mechanisms for operational cooperation between the two countries. </span></span></span></span></span></span>

<span><span><span><span><span><span>An important component of the project will be joint training exercises involving Ukrainian and Romanian rescue workers. This will allow them to practice practical procedures for cooperation, coordination of forces and resources, and joint response to emergencies that may arise in border areas.</span></span></span></span></span></span>

<span><span><span><span><span><span>The project also aims to strengthen the logistical and technical capabilities of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region. Specifically, plans include the purchase of a specialized radiation and chemical protection vehicle, which will be used to carry out response operations against such threats.</span></span></span></span></span></span>

Earlier, the pilot of a Spanish F-18 fighter jet, who was on a NATO air patrol mission, shot down a drone over Romania. This is the fourth unmanned aerial vehicle shot down by the country this year. The aerial target entered national airspace from the Republic of Moldova, approximately 24 km north of Galați.
