The occupying forces announced a three-day water outage in Kerch

Residents of occupied Kerch will be without a centralized water supply for nearly three days. The Russian-controlled city administration announced the large-scale shutdown.

Krym.Realii reported this, citing the Kerch occupation administration.

According to the occupying authorities, the water will be shut off at 1:00 a.m. on August 5, and they plan to fully restore the water supply at approximately 6:00 p.m. on August 7. They cite “urgent work” on the main water pipeline as the reason.

The occupation administration claims that during the outage, the company “Voda Krymu” will organize the delivery of drinking water, but residents have been urged to stock up on water in advance.

Recently, many settlements in occupied Crimea have experienced interruptions in their water supply. According to reports, this is due to problems with the energy infrastructure following strikes on military and energy facilities on the peninsula.

At the same time, unlike in previous years, most Crimean reservoirs are not drying up this summer but continue to fill up. Experts attribute this, in particular, to a decrease in overall water consumption on the occupied peninsula.

Recently, amid power and water outages in Crimea, authorities decided to raise utility rates.

Earlier,Eskender Bariev, chairman of the board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center and a human rights activist, spoke during the 19th session of the UN Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (EMRIP) and accused Russia of ecocide, citing the loss of more than 18 cubic kilometers of fresh water, the destruction of dozens of natural ecosystems, and the de facto destruction of the hydraulic system that supplied water to the North Crimean Canal.
