In the Rostov Region of the Russian Federation, traffic has been blocked on a section of the R-280 "Novorossiya" highway, which runs from Rostov-on-Don toward the annexed Crimea. The restrictions were imposed following a drone attack that damaged a bridge over the Mius River.

This was reported by the publication “Krym.Realii,” citing Rostov Region Governor Yuriy Slyusar.

According to the Russian official, traffic was blocked at the approach to the bridge over the Mius River in the Neklinovsky District. Earlier reports indicated that debris from the drones damaged the bridge’s road surface at the 97th kilometer of the highway. Two crawler cranes were also damaged.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that overnight, Russian air defenses allegedly shot down 142 Ukrainian drones. According to the ministry, the drones were intercepted over the Rostov Oblast, eight other regions of Russia, the annexed Crimea, and the waters of the Sea of Azov.

In addition, Russian authorities will temporarily disable the vehicle inspection scanner on the Kerch Bridge. According to a Telegram monitoring channel created by the occupying authorities, from 8:00 p.m. on November 9 to 12:00 p.m. on November 10, vehicles coming from Taman will be inspected without the use of the scanner—for technical reasons.

During this period, scheduled buses will be inspected manually. Drivers are advised to take these changes into account when planning their trips.

The announcement does not provide any information on when traffic will resume on the damaged section of the road.
