The occupation court in Crimea sentenced a local resident to 15 years

A resident of the Dzhankoy district of Crimea was sentenced to 15 years in prison on charges of 'high treason'. According to the Russian court, she allegedly passed on information about the Russian armed forces on the peninsula. The court also fined her 100 thousand rubles.

The hearing of the case was held in a closed session, the names of the convicted are not disclosed. There are no public comments from her or her defense. According to<b> the</b> human rights organization CrimeaSOS, since the beginning of 2024, at least <b>56 Crimeans</b> have been persecuted by the Russian authorities. They are accused of 'espionage', 'treason' and other crimes. Human rights activists predict that the number of such cases will grow, as the article on treason has actually become one of the most popular tools for persecuting those who disagree with the war.

In Crimea, a former deputy head of a unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine was sentenced to 12 years in prison. Since 2012, he had been working in this position, responsible for public security. After the occupation of Crimea, the defendant betrayed his oath and joined the Russian occupation Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea. There he took the position of Deputy Head of the Public Order Police of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Yalta. By his actions, the convict contributed to the formation of Russian law enforcement agencies on the peninsula and assisted the aggressor state in conducting subversive activities against Ukraine.

Another traitor police officer Fedorian was exchanged to Russia in Crimea. The decision to transfer him was made by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War on August 5, 2025. In October 2024, the Holosiivskyi District Court of Kyiv sentenced Fedorian to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property. Although he initially appealed the verdict, he later withdrew his appeal and wrote an application for an exchange.
