The occupation authorities of Crimea do not trust collaborators of Crimean Tatar origin

The only Crimean Tatar who headed a Russian district council after the last pseudo-elections in annexed Crimea lost his post.

According to Krym.Realii, it is the former head of the Russian Belogorsk District Council Arsen Yunusov. The new head of the district council is Anatoly Bugay, elected as a Russian deputy from the Bagatovo village council. The Crimean branch of the international movement for the de-occupation of Crimea #LiberateCrimea believes that despite the increase in the number of Crimean Tatars in the new convocation of the Russian parliament of Crimea, the influence of Crimean Tatar collaborators has not increased.

"Today, there is only one Crimean Tatar in the Russian Council of Ministers of Crimea - the head of the Ministry of Information. Among the committees in the executive structure of the government, there is the head of the State Committee of the Ministry of Culture and the same committee is headed by a Crimean Tatar in the Russian parliament of Crimea. Also, five Crimean Tatars were elected to the Russian parliament of Crimea from the United Russia party, but they did not receive any serious positions in the parliament (except for the above-mentioned one)," the Crimean branch of #LiberateCrimea noted.

Given the fact that there are no top district and city officials of Crimean Tatar nationality, the movement believes that the influence of Crimean Tatar collaborators has not only not increased, but is even weaker in Crimea. According to the activists, this is due to the distrust of the Kremlin and its Crimean proxies to the Crimean Tatar people in Crimea.

"The occupation authorities from Russia are aware of the pro-Ukrainian position of the Crimean Tatars and that this position remains unchanged. The Crimean Tatars continue to ignore the Russian elections in Crimea, continue to support the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, many left Crimea after the outbreak of a full-scale war, the number of political prisoners of Crimean Tatar nationality is constantly growing... And there are many such examples of disloyalty to the Russian regime on the part of the Crimean Tatars. Therefore, some collaborators seem to be declaratively empowered, but their actual power will be reduced," #LiberateCrimea noted.
