Acting Odesa Mayor Ihor Koval has appointed Oleksandr Polokhach as acting director of the Department of Municipal Security.
As noted in Igor Koval's order, Oleksandr Polokhach previously served as the department's deputy director and head of the emergency planning and coordination office.
He will perform his duties until the city council finds a new director. It should be noted that the acting mayor signed the order on May 28, but it was made public only on June 1 in the evening, although Oleksandr Polokhach had already started working in his new position on June 1.
In his declaration for 2025, Oleksandr Polokhach indicated that in 2025 he jointly owned a 73.5-square-meter house with his brother Oleh in the village of Vedmezhe Vushko in Vinnytsia region and a 1,000-square-meter land plot there. He also owns a 65.7-square-meter apartment in Odesa and a 1.2 thousand-square-meter plot of land in the Dobroslav community. His wife owns a 30.2 square meter apartment in Odesa.
The family prefers BMW cars - Oleksandr Polokhach bought a 2014 BMW 328D in 2024, and his wife has been driving a 2010 BMW X5 since 2019. Yulia Polokhach is one of the ultimate beneficiaries of the GRIFA Limited Liability Company.
The family's income consisted of UAH 1 million 56.4 thousand, which Oleksandr Polokhach received in total as a salary, pension and subsidy, and UAH 363.3 thousand, which she received as a salary at the Rescue and Diving Service of Odesa City Council and a pension.
The family's savings are declared as joint property and consist of USD 29 thousand in cash.
In April, the acting mayor of Odesa, Ihor Koval, appointed the director of the Department of Municipal Security of the Odesa City Council without a competition. Vyacheslav Davydiuk was appointed to the post.
In early December 2025, the acting mayor of Odesa, Ihor Koval, dismissed Volodymyr Kharishchak, director of the Department of Municipal Security of the Odesa City Council. The grounds for the dismissal were stated to be Volodymyr Kharishchak' s statement.
