Juvenile prosecutors in the Kherson region have filed an indictment with the court against the head of the Kherson branch of "Yunarmiya." The defendant coordinated the work of the movement’s regional and local branches and recruited schoolchildren into it.

This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

Investigators believe that the man voluntarily joined the youth propaganda movement. He appeared in videos in which he encouraged Ukrainian youth to join the Russian Armed Forces. In one such video, the defendant stated that 12 “Yunarmiya” units had been established in the occupied Kherson region. There, children underwent “physical and cultural training” and were later to fight for Russia.

“Yunarmiya” is a Russian youth organization created by the Russian Ministry of Defense, often referred to as a “children’s army.” Children as young as 8 are recruited into it. Minors are dressed in military uniforms, taught how to handle weapons and march in formation, and convinced that they must “defend Russia.” In the occupied territories of Ukraine, the invaders use this movement to indoctrinate Ukrainian schoolchildren, aiming to raise them from a young age to be citizens loyal to Russia and prepare them for future service in the Russian army.
