An official at Odessa Colony No. 14 has been taken into custody on suspicion of producing and distributing child pornography. According to investigators, he created and sold explicit material featuring a minor girl via Telegram.

This was reported by Intent, citing a ruling by the Khadzhibey District Court of Odessa.

According to the investigation, the head of the social and psychological services department at the State Institution “Odessa Correctional Colony (No. 14)” produced pornographic photographs featuring an underage girl in the fall of 2025. He subsequently published these images on a Telegram channel for further sale.

In March, the girl, using an anonymous account, purchased access to the photos and videos featuring herself using Telegram’s internal currency. The content was then handed over to law enforcement as evidence of a possible crime.

As part of the investigation, law enforcement officers interviewed the victim, examined pages on Telegram, Instagram, and TikTok, and conducted a search of the official’s residence. During the search, police seized a cell phone containing the relevant materials and Telegram accounts.

An expert’s report confirmed that the seized images were pornographic in nature and constituted child pornography. The penalty under this article provides for imprisonment for a term of eight to twelve years.

The prosecutor insisted on pretrial detention, citing the risks of flight, influence on witnesses, and possible destruction of evidence. The defense objected to the arrest and requested a less severe preventive measure. Ultimately, the court ruled to send the suspect to the Odesa pretrial detention center until August 8, 2026. At the same time, the court set bail at 332,800 hryvnias.

Also in Odesa, a 31-year-old man was sentenced to life in prison for the high-profile murder and rape of seven-year-old Solomiya Tarasyuk. The perpetrator had planned the crime in advance, systematically gaining the trust of local children.
