In occupied Yalta, in Russian-annexed Crimea, the Guva River burst its banks and flooded the trolleybus depot. The water level there reached half a meter.
This was reported by “Krym.Realii,” citing a video posted by a subscriber of the AMS Yalta automotive Telegram group.
According to the occupation administration of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Crimea, a retaining wall collapsed due to heavy rains. Rescue workers and the administration’s engineering equipment are on the scene.
The effects of the storm are also being reported in other towns across Crimea.
In Sudak, rising groundwater flooded the ground floor of the “Krymgazmerezh” building. Water also entered the basements of buildings on Alushtinskaya and Sorozhskaya Streets.
In Koreiz, people are being partially evacuated from the flooded area. Due to soil erosion, houses on Tokmakov, Dzherelna, and Sevastopol Streets were flooded, and their foundations were partially destroyed. To prevent further damage and flooding, temporary dams are being built there.
Earlier, in occupied Yevpatoria, streets were flooded on the morning of September 6 following a heavy downpour.
Recently, Intent reported that in Russian-occupied Crimea, water reserves in reservoirs began to drop sharply in early fall. Many rivers have become shallow or completely dried up due to the dry weather.
