On November 10, 2025, the appeal proceedings were suspended due to the defendant’s deteriorating health.

<span><span><span><span><span><span>At that time, Plekhov’s defense attorney filed a motion to stay the appeal proceedings, arguing that her client was unable to personally attend the hearings due to illness. The panel of judges agreed and ruled to suspend the proceedings until the defendant’s health improves.</span></span></span></span></span></span>
<span><span><span><span><span><span>The court also ordered Plekhov to report any changes in his health that would allow the proceedings to resume, and directed the prosecutor to monitor compliance with this decision.</span></span></span></span></span></span>
Earlier, the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court opened proceedings on a complaint filed by the defense attorneys for Igor Plekhov, the mayor of Reni in the Odesa region. The ruling noted that the defense is asking the court to overturn the Higher Anti-Corruption Court’s verdict and acquit the mayor. In addition, the attorney is requesting a reexamination of the circumstances of the case and a review of the evidence.
