The body of a 14-year-old boy who had gone missing at sea was found on the coast of the Odesa region

In the Odesa region, the body of a 14-year-old boy was found; he had gone missing on the evening of August 13 while swimming in the Black Sea. The teenager was found in the water approximately seven kilometers from where he went missing.

According to the regional police press office, the search lasted two days in the Lyman community of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district. Police officers, divers from the State Emergency Service, border guards, and territorial defense troops participated in the search.

According to police, the boy was swimming in the sea with his older sister. She saw him get swept away by a wave, after which he disappeared underwater.

On August 15, around 4:00 p.m., one of the search teams discovered the teenager’s body in the water. It was brought ashore.

Police noted that the body will undergo a forensic medical examination to determine the exact cause of death.

As Vasyl Reznichenko, head of the Lyman community, clarified, the deceased was named Oleksandr Kravchenko. According to him, the beach where the children were located was officially closed to the public.

The community expressed its condolences to the family of the deceased boy.
