The average salary in the Mykolaiv region has exceeded 26,000 hryvnias: where do they pay the most?

In May 2026, the average salary for full-time employees in the Mykolaiv region was 26,824 UAH. It increased by 3.3% over the month, and the region ranked ninth among Ukraine’s regions in terms of wages.

This is according to data from the Main Department of Statistics in the Mykolaiv region.

The highest salaries in the region were recorded in the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply sector. In May, the average salary for employees in this sector was 52,119 UAH —nearly twice the regional average.

Employees in the arts, sports, entertainment, and recreation sectors earned the least. The average salary in this sector was 12,282 UAH, which is less than half the regional average in Mykolaiv Oblast.

At the same time, wage arrears in the region have increased.

As of June 1, 2026, companies in the region owed their employees 88.7 million UAH. Over the course of the month, the amount of debt increased by 47.5%.

The largest share of the arrears is attributable to manufacturing enterprises—64.9% of the total amount. Another 27.1% of the debt comes from enterprises in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, while 7.3% comes from enterprises in water supply, sewerage, and waste management. Other types of activities account for 0.7% of the debt.

Total wage arrears amount to 2.3% of the national debt.

As of June 1, 2026, the total wage arrears in the Kherson region amounted to 2 million 383.2 thousand hryvnias.

Of this amount, 2,273,900 hryvnias, or 95.4%, consists of wages accrued in previous years.
