The attacks on Odesa on April 10 caused 32 million in environmental damage

State inspectors conducted an inspection of the premises of a company that was damaged by shelling in the city of Pivdenne, Odesa Oblast, on April 10, 2026, and assessed the environmental damage caused.

According to a statement from the press office of the State Environmental Inspection of the Southwestern Region

The findings revealed contamination of a land plot with a total area of 812 square meters. The estimated amount of damage exceeds 32 million hryvnias. In addition, measurements of soil composition and properties revealed contamination of land resources over an area of 122 square meters. The organic matter content exceeds the maximum permissible concentration by 286 times. The amount of damages resulting from land contamination is nearly 182,000 hryvnias.

The information was forwarded to the Operational Headquarters of the State Environmental Inspection of Ukraine for inclusion in the unified registry of damages caused by armed aggression.  

On the night of April 10, the Odesa region again came under a massive attack by enemy drones targeting energy and port infrastructure. The damage led to disruptions in the power supply. Empty storage tanks and port equipment were also damaged. There were no casualties. The resulting fires have been contained. All emergency services are on the scene. Efforts to assess and address the damage are ongoing.

The day before, the Odesa region wasalso targeted by Russian drones—a critical infrastructure facility was attacked last night. Power company crews are already on site and preparing to restore power as quickly as possible.

Meanwhile, the number of dead dolphinswhichwere regularly found on the coast by employees of the Tuzly Estuaries National Park throughout May and June—rose to 58 on the morning of June 30.
