The South Ukrainian NPP branch of Energoatom has announced a tender for an expert examination of equipment and its technical inspection. It is planned to spend UAH 4 million 535 thousand for this purpose.

The tender was published on January 31 in the Prozorro system, according to the Center for Public Investigations.

Bidders can submit their proposals until February 18, and the next day the winner will be selected in an open bidding format with special features that provide for shorter deadlines for submitting applications and appeals.

According to the tender documentation, the services include checking equipment for compliance with passport characteristics and assessing its performance. In particular, the objects to be inspected include a 400/80-ton all-terrain bridge crane. A total of 324 units of lifting equipment, elevators, pressure vessels and vehicles are scheduled for inspection in 2025.

All work is to be completed by December 25, 2025, in the city of Yuzhnoukrainsk, Mykolaiv region.

Last December, Pivdenoukrainska NPP signed a deal without a competitive procedure and with a company with a dubious past. The deal was worth more than UAH 2 billion. In 2022, the company was accused of misappropriating budget funds for services for the plant.

It is not the first time that South UkrainianNPP has been involved in cases of misappropriation of budget funds, embezzlement and abuse of office. In November, the High Anti-Corruption Court scheduled a hearing on the misappropriation of UAH 12.3 million in the case of the nuclear power plant's executives.

In September, the Antimonopoly Committee uncovered collusion in a public tender and fined the bidders. The tender was for the purchase of network equipment for a nuclear power plant.

In June, the South Ukrainian Nuclear Power Plant concealed prices for materials and conducted the procurement without a specific procedure. Under the terms of the contract, the company must improve the fire safety of the plant's cable systems by December. The prices for imported materials were significantly higher.
