Since the beginning of the year, 2 thousand fraud cases have been opened in Odesa region

At the beginning of the year, 2,955 fraud cases were recorded in Odesa region, which is more than in Mykolaiv and Kherson regions together.

These data were published by analysts of the Opendatabot platform.

In the same period, 291 proceedings were registered in Kherson region, and 940 in Mykolaiv region. However, in terms of the whole of Ukraine, Odesa region ranks sixth in terms of the number of such cases. This year, the capital received the highest number of fraud complaints - 4,882 cases. Dnipropetrovs'k region follows with 3,511 proceedings and Kharkiv region with 2,671. The fourth is Kyiv region with 2,573 registered cases, and the fifth is Lviv region with 2,486.

The lowest number of proceedings, except for the temporarily occupied territories and the combat zone, was recorded in Ivano-Frankivsk region - about 700 cases.

According to experts, the overall number of frauds this year decreased by one third compared to last year. However, in some regions, the decline is minimal, such as in Khmelnytskyi, where the figure fell by only 1%. In contrast, in Dnipropetrovska and Chernivetska oblasts, the number of such appeals decreased by more than 40%. However, compared to 2021, the number of fraud cases in Zhytomyr region has increased more than 4 times, and in Zakarpattia - three times.

In total, 35,599 criminal cases of fraud were recorded from January to August 2025 in Ukraine. This is 1.5 times less than in the same period last year. At the same time, it is still 1.8 times more than before the full-scale campaign. On average, 4.5 thousand fraud cases are opened in Ukraine every month.

Odesa region also ranked second in Ukraine in terms of the number of alimony orders issued by Ukrainian courts in 8 months of 2025.
