Shooting near a pizzeria in Odesa was classified as hooliganism

The shooting near the pizzeria on Serednofontanska Street in Odesa was classified as hooliganism, and the detainee faces imprisonment for a term of three to seven years.

This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa Oblast.

According to the police, on May 8, in the evening, the police received a report that an unknown man had fired a gun near a pizzeria on Serednofontanska Street, after which he entered the establishment with the weapon, showing it to the audience.

No one was injured as a result of the use of the weapon, and the 42-year-old offender was detained on the spot by patrol police officers and servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine.

During the initial investigative actions, the police seized the pistol from which the man fired into the air, ammunition and several spent shell casings. Preliminary, the weapon belongs to the category of devices for shooting rubber bullets. The offender did not have a permit for it. All seized items were sent for ballistic examination.

The day before, a shooting took place in Zaporizhzhia region, where a drunken man started shooting at his opponents during a fight with three other men who had made a remark to him in a store. He wounded two of the quarrelsome men with a pistol. As a result, a 17-year-old teenager and a 33-year-old man were hospitalized. Law enforcement officers managed to detain him near the scene. Even before the police arrived, he was intercepted by a criminal investigation officer of the terrorist unit who happened to be nearby. He held the offender until other police officers arrived.

Another case occurred in the Sviatoshynskyi district of Kyiv on the afternoon of May 1. At about 14:30, the police received a report of a shooting on Mriya Street. According to preliminary information, an unknown man driving a Volkswagen Caddy made several shots. No one was injured in the incident. When the police detained the car in question, they did not find any weapons on the driver.
