An agent of Russian special services who was preparing weapons for a series of contract killings was exposed in Odesa. The SBU disrupted the plans of liquidations by detaining the perpetrator and revealing the scheme of preparing terrorist attacks.

This was reported by the SBU Communications Department.

The SBU exposed an agent of the Russian special services who, on the instructions of the FSB, arranged a cache of weapons in Odesa for future contract killings.

During a special operation in the port city, the SBU detained a man who had prepared a cache with ammunition and small arms, which was planned to be used for high-profile liquidations.

The offender was an unemployed resident of Poltava, who was recruited through telegram channels under the pretext of "easy money". He was then sent to Odesa, where he received the coordinates of the cache and took an F-1 grenade, a Kalashnikov rifle, and 30 rounds of ammunition.

In the hotel, he checked the serviceability of the weapons, reported to his Russian supervisor and received a new task - to equip another cache. After conducting reconnaissance, the Russian agent hid the arsenal in garbage containers in the central park and passed on the coordinates.

Later, the Russian special services planned to find an executor who would use this cache to attack the head of one of the district TCCs. If successful, the list of targets could be expanded.

Law enforcement officers exposed these intentions in advance, documented the agent's activities and detained him at his place of residence in Poltava after he returned from Odesa.

During the searches, they seized his phone, which he used to communicate with his curator. The Russian intelligence off icer has already been identified.

He was served a notice of suspicion of treason under martial law and illegal handling of weapons. The case has now been referred to court, and the man faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

In addition, his FSB supervisor was also notified in absentia of suspicion for preparing a terrorist attack, attempted murder and illegal handling of weapons. Measures are being taken to bring him to justice.

Also in March, the Security Service of Ukraine announced the neutralization of a Russian military intelligence agent group that was preparing the murder of Odesa activist Serhiy Sternenko and the elimination of a killer who resisted arrest with weapons.
