The SBU has served a notice of suspicion to Kostyantyn Basyuk, who was appointed a "senator" from Kherson region by the Russian occupiers. He is accused of information activities in support of the aggressor and justifying Russia's armed aggression.

This is stated in the Prosecutor General's suspicion.

According to the investigation, Basyuk took office after a fake referendum was held. As a "senator," he actively cooperated with the occupation administration, using his Telegram channel for propaganda.

In particular, he regularly reported on his meetings with Russian officials and the occupiers, publicly supported the actions of the Russian military (even writing about helping them with drones and anti-drone guns), agitated residents of the occupied territories to join the ranks of the Russian armed forces, promising high salaries, and urged local residents to participate in the illegal presidential elections.

The actions of Konstantin Basyuk are qualified under Articles 111-1 (collaboration) and 436-2 (justification, recognition of the legitimacy, denial of armed aggression of the Russian Federation) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

A deputy of the Kherson City Council was charged with high treason. The Security Service of Ukraine has served a notice of suspicion to Konstantin Valerievich Syvak, a native of Kherson, of committing high treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He is charged with intentionally assisting a foreign state in conducting subversive activities against Ukraine.

According to the investigation, in 2020, Kostiantyn Syvak was elected as a deputy of the Kherson City Council of the VIII convocation. After the occupation of Kherson by Russian troops in March-April 2022, he established contact with representatives of the aggressor state and systematically maintained communication with them.
