The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, on the recommendation of the investigator of the Security Service of Ukraine, has served a notice of suspicion of violation of the laws and customs of war, namely the shelling of the Health Route in Odesa on April 29, 2024, to Yevhen Lederer, who ordered the launch of missiles.

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, he ordered a missile attack on civilians and facilities in Odesa on April 29, namely, to carry out a deliberate attack on the territory of the Health Route recreational area near a non-residential civilian building - the International Humanitarian University.

Then the Russians fired an Iskander-M missile. According to the prosecutor's office, the strike killed eight people and injured 23.

The missile explosion caused a fire to break out in the famous student palace of the Odesa Law Academy. It is also called "Harry Potter's castle" because of its fabulous appearance. The vice-rector of the International Humanitarian University, Boris Vasiliev, died in the residence and former MP, president of the OJA and Moscow State University, Serhiy Kivalov, was injured.

On May 26, Odesa said goodbye to 4-year-old Zlata, who was wounded during a rocket attack on the coast on April 29; doctors fought for the child's life for almost a month. Zlata was hospitalized in an extremely serious condition. The girl underwent a complicated heart surgery and was in a coma.

April 30, 2024 was declared a day of mourning in the city of Odesa. The city's enterprises, institutions, and organizations were advised to limit the use of music and entertainment.

It should be noted that in April 2024, the Center for Public Investigations released a new investigative film about the March 2 terrorist attack in Odesa, when a seemingly ordinary Shahed-type unmanned aerial vehicle destroyed the entrance of a high-rise building and killed 12 people. Although Russian propagandists tried to shift the blame to Ukrainian air defense, claiming that a missile hit the building.

Prior to that, the presentation of the investigative film by the Center for Public Investigations "Terrorist attack in Serhiivka: who from the Russian military was involved in the murders of Ukrainians" took place in Odesa.
