Russians wound a one-year-old child while shelling Kherson

On the afternoon of August 24, Russians killed a civilian and wounded a one-year-old boy while shelling residential areas of Kherson. Prosecutors, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, are documenting the consequences of these attacks.

This was reported by the Prosecutor's Office of Kherson region.

According to the prosecutors, at about 11:00, the occupiers opened fire on one of the residential areas of Kherson. They had previously fired from artillery. A 55-year-old man sustained injuries incompatible with life. Two civilians have been reported wounded. They are a 58-year-old man and a one-year-old boy. The child with explosive trauma and shrapnel wounds was hospitalized in the intensive care unit.

A pre-trial investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war has been initiated under the procedural control of the Kherson District Prosecutor's Office.

In addition, in the morning of August 24, Russian military shelled Kherson with mortars. As a result of the shelling, a 62-year-old woman who was at home sustained life-threatening injuries. A 63-year-old local resident was also injured during the morning shelling of Antonivka.

In the evening, on August 23, the Russian military insidiously attacked a police car from a drone. A direct hit killed a 38-year-old employee of the Police Department for the Protection of Police Lieutenant Volodymyr Moskalenko. And during the evacuation of the body of the deceased, they repeatedly attacked the official car of the Patrol Police Department, which caused mechanical damage to the car, but the officers were not injured.

The Russian military also targeted a cultural institution; residential areas of the region's settlements, including 3 high-rise buildings and 10 private houses. The occupiers also damaged a gas pipeline and private cars. As a result of Russian aggression, 10 people were injured.
