On February 7, Russian troops struck 37 settlements in Kherson region yesterday.
According to the press service of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, residential areas, social and critical infrastructure came under fire and air strikes. The attacks damaged two apartment buildings, seven private houses, a gas pipeline, an outbuilding and a car.
One person was killed and five others were injured as a result of the Russian aggression.
According to the CMA, the victim of the shelling was a gas service worker who went to repair damaged networks in the Dniprovsky district of Kherson.
At about 15:37, the Russian military attacked the area with a drone. The occupiers dropped explosives on a 37-year-old specialist who was working at the scene of the accident. The man received injuries incompatible with life, the prosecutor's office said.
The Kherson District Prosecutor's Office has launched a pre-trial investigation into the war crime that led to the death of a person (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
In the first month of 2025, more than twelve thousand enemy shells "flew" into the Kherson region. January 2025 was a tragic month for Kherson, as the city lost 16 of its residents during that month. This is about the same number of people killed and wounded in December 2024 as a result of Russian attacks. In the first month of the new year alone, 154 Kherson residents were injured by Russian shelling. This is 25 people more than in December 2024, which indicates an aggravation of the situation in the city.
Meanwhile, local businessman Viktor Khodykin will be paying UAH 3 million to close windows and repair roofing after shelling at facilities owned by the city council in Kherson.
On February 5, the municipal enterprise Parks of Kherson signed a contract with him. Representatives of the utility decided not to hold a tender, citing an order from the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Prokudin, which allows local officials to sign contracts without tenders during martial law. This decision was made in connection with the enactment of the decisions of the Kherson Regional Defense Council.
