The terrorist state of Russia planned an international teleconference involving representatives from 80 countries to accuse the Ukrainian military of crimes against civilians and divert attention from the humanitarian catastrophe in the occupied town of Oleshky in the Kherson region.
The Center for Public Investigations examined the details of this disinformation campaign.
According to the press service of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the event, titled “Crimes of the Russian Federation Against the Civilian Population of Zaporizhzhia Oblast,” was scheduled for October 22 in the form of a videoconference with interpretation into English, Spanish, and French.
The event was intended to involve diplomats from countries represented at the UN, OSCE, BRICS, and the CIS, as well as representatives of international humanitarian organizations. The keynote speaker was to be Rodion Miroshnik, a collaborator subject to sanctions. Speeches were also expected from the occupation leader of the Zaporizhzhia region, Y. Balytskyi, and other representatives of the occupation authorities.
According to the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR), the organizers planned to show footage of people who would be presented as witnesses to crimes committed by the Ukrainian military. These appearances, according to information on the operation’s preparation, were staged.
