A court in Munich has sentenced a 58-year-old Russian man to life in prison for the murder of two Ukrainian soldiers who were undergoing rehabilitation in the city of Murnau. Among the dead was a 36-year-old fighter from Kakhovka , Volodymyr Kozin.

This was reported by the German media outlet n-tv.

The crime occurred after a conflict that arose during joint alcohol consumption. The defendant confessed to the murder of the 36-year-old and 23-year-old Ukrainians, but denied the motive stated by the prosecutor. The official version claims that the Russian killed the soldiers because of a quarrel based on "national pride." At the same time, the accused said that it all started because the Ukrainians did not return a bottle of vodka to him and insulted him.

After an argument, he attacked the men with a knife, inflicting fatal blows. The court recognized the crime as "particularly grave," which makes early release almost impossible.

According to the newspaper, the court also found that the three men knew each other and often met to drink together, as they did on the day of the crime, when they met in the center of Murnau.

The tragedy occurred on April 27, 2024 in Murnau. The Russian inflicted fatal wounds on two Ukrainian soldiers - one of them, 36-year-old Volodymyr Kozin from Kakhovka, died on the spot. The other, 23-year-old Vyacheslav Bezuglyi from Cherkasy region, is in hospital. Intent has already written about this.

Probably, the victims could not fully resist because of the injuries they received at the front.
Later, local media reported that the attacker openly supported Russian aggression, wore the symbols of the occupiers and could have been a supporter of the so-called "Russian world."

One of the deceased was a soldier of the Air Assault Forces. He was injured during the battles for Bilohorivka in 2023 and underwent rehabilitation in Germany.
